Darth Vapor: The JUUL of the Empire

Requirements for CE Credit
To claim credit for these sessions, participants must complete the following for each session (with a unique UAN):
- Visit this site. Make sure you are logged in and registered before proceeding.
- Complete an evaluation by clicking the green evaluation button for each session/block.
- Enter the evaluation code that was given to you at the end of the session you attended.
- Answer all questions honestly - we appreciate your feedback! All responses are stored anonymously.
- Click submit. As soon as you submit, a report containing the NABP ePID and DOB stored in your profile will be automatically sent to CPE Monitor.
- Please allow up to 48 hours for processing. Your credit should appear in your NABP profile online.

For simultaneous sessions, participants should claim credit ONLY for those sessions they attended and ignore those they did not attend. Attendance will be reconciled against sign-in sheets. Those sessions not attended will be removed from the participants' profiles after the conclusion of the conference. It is recommended that participants log on and reivew the information under "my account" prior to submitting the evaluation. Our current understanding of vaping related lung injuries is evolving. Pharmacists should be well versed on the different types of electronic cigarette and vaping devices available, as well as the risks associated with their use. This primer will review historical background information including a timeline of discovery of the electronic cigarette and the recent upsurge of use of these products by both adults and adolescents. The audience will learn about different forms available and what chemicals/products cartridges used in these devices contain. The risks associated with vaping including a review of vaping related lung injuries will also be discussed. A brief introduction to patient symptom presentation and in-patient management will be reviewed. Local and national laws that have recently been enacted, as well as regulatory agency pervue (FDA’s role) will be covered. Key messages for pharmacists to use while speaking to both adult and adolescent patients regarding e-cigarettes and vaping devices will be highlighted.
